NEWS: Topsham in Exeter is named as one of Britain’s ‘Best Places to Live’
The Sunday Times has named the estuary town of Topsham as one of the south west’s entries in its ‘Best Places To Live In The UK’ series.
The reasons given included its array of historic homes, independent shops and diverse restaurants and bars, as well as its close proximity to the Exe estuary and its frequent and fast links to the centre of Exeter.
Topsham – which is where East of Exe has one of its offices – is also praised by the newspaper for its community spirit with local residents running the local swimming pool, library and town hall.
Local entrepreneurs are praised, too, for operating a local vineyard and producing locally-sourced artisan food, and the newspaper concludes by describing Topsham as “perfectly-preserved” and “the best in the west.”
