SALES NEWS: Housing shortage means its a seller’s market in Exeter and East Devon
The long-running shortage of homes on sale locally and across the country continues – making it a good time for those considering selling to put their property on the market.
Data from Rightmove shows the number of new sellers as we near the end of summer is more than 10 per cent down on this time last year. For some Exeter and east Devon postcodes, the portal now has fewer homes on sale than in in the winter months.
The number of enquiries to agents and visits to agents’ websites and portals to check listings is, however, some 22 per cent up on a year ago.
As a result asking prices have remained strong over the summer and are likely to give sellers the upper hand over the autumn, Rightmove says.
