SALES NEWS: It’s a Sellers’ Market thanks to shortage of homes on sale
Whether you are preparing to sell your home over the winter or contemplating a move next year, there is optimistic news about the state of the market.
The Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors, one of the country’s leading bodies monitoring market activity, says there is a “dire shortage” of homes on sale right now and it warns this is likely to remain the case for the next few months at least.
RICS says the volume of homes on sale across the country now – including in the south west region – is one of the smallest for two years; yet demand is above average.
“The dire shortage of available housing across the UK is continuing to push prices upwards, regardless of the uncertainty linked to the ongoing discussions surrounding Brexit” says the RICS chief economist, Simon Rubinsohn.
